New research from Sasha7 examines registration patterns across four countries and 300 cities, alongside published academic studies on infidelity.

How many people cheat? Are men really more likely to have affairs than women? And what can discreet dating platforms tell us about relationships that traditional surveys might miss?
These questions generate millions of conversations, but the statistics used to answer them are often surprisingly difficult to compare.
To bring more clarity to the subject, Sasha7 has introduced a comprehensive Infidelity Statistics 2026 research resource, combining independent academic findings, published relationship studies and original insights from its own platform.
The new research includes an analysis of 1,046,369 registrations across Brazil, the United States, Australia and Canada, recorded over a 365-day period ending in October 2026.
And some of the patterns are worth exploring.
Women account for nearly one in four registrations
Across the four countries analyzed, Sasha7 recorded:
| Country | Total registrations | Female share |
|---|---|---|
| Brazil | 643,430 | 21.6% |
| United States | 298,060 | 25.9% |
| Australia | 78,250 | 25.9% |
| Canada | 26,629 | 21.9% |
| Combined | 1,046,369 | 23.2% |
The results reveal differences in the gender composition of registrations across markets.
Women accounted for approximately 26% of registrations in the United States and Australia, compared with around 22% in Brazil and Canada.
That doesn’t necessarily mean women in one country are more likely to seek affairs than women in another. Advertising, brand awareness, acquisition channels and platform demographics can all influence who registers.
What the data does show is that the gender balance of interest in a discreet dating platform is far from identical across markets.
A look at 300 cities
Beyond national registration totals, Sasha7 analyzed activity across 300 cities, accounting for approximately 870,432 registrations, or 83% of the four-country total.
That geographic detail creates opportunities to examine how registration patterns differ between metropolitan areas and smaller communities.
However, an important distinction applies: platform registrations are not equivalent to infidelity rates.
A city with more Sasha7 registrations isn’t necessarily a city with more unfaithful residents. Population size, local marketing investment, demographics and platform awareness all matter.
The city data is best understood as an analysis of discreet dating activity within Sasha7, rather than a ranking of which cities have the most cheating.
The bigger question: Are men or women more likely to cheat?
Platform registrations offer one perspective, but broader questions about infidelity require independent population research.
For example, an analysis published in 2025 using U.S. General Social Survey data found that 11% of ever-married men and 14% of ever-married women aged 25–54 reported having had extramarital sex while married. The observed difference was not statistically significant.
That doesn’t establish that women cheat more than men overall. It illustrates why the answer depends on the population, period and definition of infidelity being studied.
Sexual affairs, emotional attachments and secret digital relationships are not always measured in the same way.
These distinctions are explored in the new Sasha7 infidelity statistics guide, which links directly to its underlying academic and survey sources.
AI is adding another dimension to discreet relationships
The research resource also examines the role of artificial intelligence in modern relationships.
In a separate 2026 voluntary survey of 1,087 adult Sasha7 users in the United States, Australia and Canada:
- 44% reported using AI in connection with an affair or discreet relationship.
- 31% reported using AI to write or improve messages.
- 18% reported using AI to explain suspicious circumstances.
These findings describe the surveyed Sasha7 users, not the general population.
Nevertheless, they illustrate how digital tools are entering aspects of relationships that were once almost entirely interpersonal.
Read the original AI and infidelity survey for the full findings and methodological limitations.
Why Sasha7 is publishing more of its research
Operating a discreet dating platform provides Sasha7 with a particular perspective on how adults explore privacy, attraction and relationships.
But access to platform data also creates a responsibility to distinguish what the numbers actually show from what people might assume they mean.
That is one reason Sasha7 has expanded its Research Hub, bringing together original member surveys, regional analyses, relationship research and supporting methodology.
The company has also introduced a dedicated Editorial Policy and Research Standards page outlining its approach to attribution, transparency, source evaluation and corrections.
Together, these resources are intended to make Sasha7’s published findings more accessible and easier to scrutinize.
What can one million registrations really tell us?
The most interesting conclusion may be that there is no single number capable of explaining infidelity.
One million platform registrations can reveal substantial patterns in who signs up for discreet dating services, where they register and how those patterns vary across markets.
They cannot tell us what percentage of married people cheat, establish national prevalence or reveal the private motivations of every registrant.
Those questions require different research methods and sources.
By bringing original platform analysis and published research into the same reference library—while keeping their limitations visible—Sasha7 hopes to contribute more useful evidence to conversations about modern relationships.

Methodology note: Registration figures are Sasha7 internal platform data for the 365-day reporting period ending October 20, 2026. Country totals cover four markets; the 300-city dataset is a geographic subset of those totals. Figures are platform-specific and should not be interpreted as representative measures of national infidelity. The separate AI findings come from a voluntary member survey.
