modern users still have to navigate inactive accounts, promotional profiles, third-party scammers and platform-generated engagement features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also tested Ashley Madison ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During our first-hand test, we sent <strong>45 personalized messages and received 9 replies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But once we looked at the quality of those responses, the picture became much more complicated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>45 messages sent<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>9 replies<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5 replies promoted OnlyFans or another paid platform<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>4 were initially non-promotional<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2 conversations moved off Ashley Madison<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>0 resulted in the connection we were looking for<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the answer isn&#8217;t:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cAshley Madison has no real women.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s too simplistic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The better answer is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ashley Madison charged men to interact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a man believed an attractive woman wanted to speak with him, he had a stronger reason to purchase credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That creates an obvious conflict when the person generating the interaction isn&#8217;t actually a normal female promote paid content or another platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the remaining four, only two progressed far enough to move away from Ashley Madison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p Immediate Promotion of Paid Content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was one of the most common problems in our own experiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Five of nine replies eventually became promotions for OnlyFans or similar paid content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, the people behind these accounts may be completely real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if you&#8217;re paying Ashley Madison credits because you want to meet someone, a reply designed primarily to sell you something elsewhere isn&#8217;t the result you&#8217;re paying for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"5-asking-for-money\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Asking for Money<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is an enormous warning sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone you&#8217;ve just met online asking for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>emergency money<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>gift cards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>crypto<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>travel money<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>hotel money<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>phone bills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>help with rent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">should immediately make you suspicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"6-pushing-you-off-site-extremely-quickly\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Pushing You Off-Site Extremely Quickly<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moving off Ashley Madison isn&#8217;t inherently bad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, two of our own conversations eventually moved elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But someone trying to move you onto WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype or another platform almost immediately deserves more scrutiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The faster the escalation, the more careful I&#8217;d be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"7-immediate-pressure-for-explicit-video-or-photos\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">7.
